First break corresponds to the 3304 engine change, any idea what the second one is? The manual I had sold the gentleman is the first - 82J1-3443.

VSSj. 1 Answer. Toyota Dyna D4D engine. The engine does not start; found out that suction control valve in the main supply pump is not receiving power even the fuel injectors are not receiving power. Attempted to connect diagnostic scanner to read the faulty codes but it is not communicating. I suspected the ECU.
It's a good question and there are more knowledgeable people here who will hopefully chime in. I have read and heard a diesel engine can go a million miles. The 4D56 is known to go 300,000+ miles before needing an overhaul if maintained well. The heads and turbo are the weak points on the 4D56. Excessive heat cracks heads and seizes turbo shaft

We came from a Corolla Verso and liked the durability/versatility of the space.
I've driven both in the same vehicle and the D4D was the engine that the Colorado deserved. It's like asking which is better the old three speed or the later 5 speed auto box. Worlds apart. The D4D in all it's variants is a good engine. The IKZ-TE isn't a poor engine by any means but it's hardly modern.

I’ve had several hilux over the years,currently on 13th and never had issues with engine size.currently got 2.4 litre engine and regularly tow 2.8 ton mini digger on trailer with zero problems.only travel at 40/50 mph which is plenty fast enough Aswell.if they had 400 hp people would still want more power.
