I was recently in the lucky position to obtain an (almost brand new) Alfa Romeo MiTo, Progression. Like many new cars coming out these days, it has "Start & Stop" technology that turns the engine off when the car is stationary and is put in neutral and the clutch is released. When putting down the clutch again the engine fires back up. A funky car is the selling point for a lot of independent driving schools these days. With so many MINI's and 500's around the Mito has exclusivity. You'd probably attract a fair few "upmarket" clients purely for the AR badge. A number of colleagues have bought Mito's for their offspring for the same reason. The whole car was completely reliable, with only a rattly brake calliper blotting the copy book. The least reliable engines are the MultiAir's, which came in 105 (non-turbo) and 135, 140 & 170bhp turbo versions, but that's just because the MultiAir units can fail and the other engines don't really go wrong. A supermini with distinctive style and swagger, the MiTo is a car designed to compete with the likes of the Mini and the Fiat 500. Modern and chic, yet with traditional Alfa Romeo values, it manages to be both attractive and functional, boasting space for four adults as well as a 270 litre boot. Hi everyone. So off we went yesterday to our local alfa dealer (Dave at picccadilly Knaresborough-take a bow, probably the nicest, most helpful, knowledgeable car dealer I have ever met), to test drive a brand new sportiva ta, zero finance and good deals available until 24th june was our motivator, that and long since wanted to own an Alfa. Do your maintenance right (oil, timing belt, spark plugs etc) and it will treat you right. Not sure about the other engines but I’m very happy with the 1.4 TB. It’s reasonably powefull with 155 hp and it’s reasoably economic, does 6-7 l/100 km. If you want a reliable, fun to drive, very good looking small car, go for the MiTo. LIYlYM0.
