It may be old enough to drive and gamble a young Gordon's student loan fees under a bus, yet despite its age, Half-Life 2 still has a touch of G.O.A.T. status. This is an all-time shooter masterpiece. It's still worth playing because it's an entirely different experience than Black Mesa. You will not get the same experience out of Black Mesa as you do in Half-Life 1 and vice versa. Playing Half-Life 1 first only enhances the Black Mesa experience and will probably make you enjoy the game more. As of Half life 2, I don't think the game looks that bad at all.
