Sapkowski HATES some of the liberties CD Projekt red took with his characters and setting in the Witcher games. But particularly how they gave Geralt a beard when in the books he hated facial hair. Sap is actually quite despised in the Witcher game community (which dwarfs the book community) for his statements and legal actions against CDPR. People still remember season 8 of Game of Thrones and because of that they remember seasons 5 to 8 and what it means when a writer is not involved in a production based on the work. Then again - Sapkowski is a lazy dipshit, he never did any work - not for the first paper RPG, not for the second one, not for the games. Sapkowski will not follow a story that was written by knock off writers that are inferior to the original content, because he deems himself and his skills as a writer to be superior and rightly so. He is a great writer, and he created the Witcher. Sword of Destiny (4/5 stars) is a very good collection of stories that builds and strengthens almost all the main characters and leads very nicely into the main series of novels. It accomplishes everything it sets out to do and is highly enjoyable. This thread is archived. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. 58. 7. 7 comments.
